Funeral for Charlie Sheen Character

The news is just breaking that Charlie Sheen’s character in the CBS sitcom “Two and a Half Men” will be killed off at the start of the new season that starts September 19. Where there’s a death, there’s a funeral, always a rich source for comedy situations.

Deadline and TMZ report that Charlie Harper is dead and that the two-part premiere will include a funeral populated by the playboy’s many past girlfriends. This could be as amusing as the film “The Six Wives of Henry Lefay,” which had several women tussling over Tim Allen’s closed casket.

We can bet that Charlie Harper’s funeral won’t be an open-casket affair! Who knows, perhaps he’ll be cremated. Will they show the funeral planning process as part of the episode? There are plenty of opportunities for comedy in the face of tragedy. Dying is easy, comedy is hard.

This episode will offer a good opportunity to initiate funeral planning conversations across the nation. As “The Doyenne of Death,” I’m available to provide commentary!
