Tonight, November 2, 2017, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the KiMo Theater, come for an evening of inspired TED talks by nine women speakers at the 2017 TEDxABQ Women event. TEDxABQWomen2017 explores the many aspects of this year’s theme—Bridges—through talks from local leaders, performances and audience engagement. The KiMo is located at 423 Central Ave. NW, Albuquerque. More information and ticket sales through this link.
Gail Rubin, event coordinator of the inaugural Before I Die ABQ Festival will be there with a community outreach table about the recent event. Write your thoughts about what you’d like to do in this lifetime upon a “Before I Die…” wall in the lobby of the theater, set up by French Funerals and Cremations. Attendees can also enter a drawing to win a free cremation from The Neptune Society of Albuquerque and a “coff-urn” from The Old Pine Box of Edgewood. Share your ideas about what you’d like to see in next year’s Before I Die ABQ Festival!
Gail was a speaker at the TEDxABQ 2015 Main Event. Her talk, A Good Goodbye, focused on the fact that a majority of people do not plan ahead for end-of-life issues. Using humor and a funny film clip, she encouraged the audience to plan ahead – because just as talking about sex won’t make you pregnant, talking about funerals and end-of-life issues won’t make you dead.
