October 30 is Create a Great Funeral Day – why not discuss mortality concerns at the Albuquerque Death Cafe on October 25 as a warm-up?
The Death Cafe, a worldwide movement started in the U.K. in 2011, is designed “To increase awareness of death with a view to helping people make the most of their (finite) lives.” At these free events, people come together in a relaxed, confidential and safe setting to discuss death, drink tea (or your favorite beverage) and eat delicious cake or cookies.
Albuquerque was the first U.S. city west of the Mississippi to hold a Death Cafe in September 2012, hosted by Gail Rubin, CT.
The next Albuquerque Death Cafe will take place on Saturday, October 25 at 2:00 p.m. at the Swiss Alps Bakery Cafe, 3000 San Pedro NE, Suite F, Albuquerque, NM 87110.
