Will the results of the election tomorrow prompt thoughts of mortality for you? Come and talk it out at the second Death Cafe in Albuquerque! This opportunity to talk about whatever is on your heart or mind about death will take place on Wednesday, November 7. So far, we have six people signed up to attend.
The objective of Death Cafe is “To increase awareness of death with a view toward helping people make the most of their (finite) lives.” At this free, RSVP-only event, people come together in a relaxed, confidential and safe setting to discuss mortality, drink tea (or your favorite beverage) and eat delicious cake or cookies.
Here are some articles about the Death Cafe concept:
The Independent (U.K. newspaper): The death cafe movement: Tea and mortality
The Columbus Dispatch (Columbus, Ohio): Facing death, over tea and cake
An opinion piece in The New York Times on Sunday, October 28 mentioned the Death Cafe concept. Read about it in Bess Lovejoy’s “The Dead Have Something to Tell You”.
