Caregiver's CaregiverThe Blogtalk Radio show, The Caregiver’s Caregiver, hosted by Dave Nassaney is an hour-long program dedicated to helping caregivers avoid burnout and survive grief. He recently interviewed Gail Rubin, Certified Thanatologist and author of A Good Goodbye: Funeral Planning for Those Who Don’t Plan to Die.

The discussion includes how caregivers experience anticipatory grief, mourning losses before the person dies. They also talked about new trends in death care, such as home funerals, how to minimize funeral costs and get a free cremation, and why having a funeral or memorial service is healing for caregivers.

You can learn the things you need to know about others to effectively plan a funeral before someone dies by downloading the free planning form at AGoodGoodbye.com. Dave said that he had all of his end-of-life arrangements in place, but later in the show realized he hadn’t written his own obituary.

Dave’s 92-year-old mother died two days after this interview was posted. He’s since had an outpouring of support from his Facebook friends.
