From Frozen Dead Guy Days to ICCFA Convention

With Frozen Dead Guy Days this weekend, followed immediately by the International Cemetery, Cremation and Funeral Association convention (ICCFA) in Las Vegas next week, it’s going to be a long, strange trip.

Tune in this weekend for coverage of Frozen Dead Guy Days in Nederland, Colorado. We’ll post photos and video of the coffin races, polar plunge, frozen turkey bowling and salmon tossing, and general merriment at this celebration of all things dead and frozen.

I’ll be there to emcee a new event this year, “The Newly-Dead Game.” The event is modeled after the popular TV show “The Newlywed Game,” but in this version, the questions center on how well the partners know each other on their last wishes.

“The Newly-Dead Game” will take place in the Brain Freezer Tent on Saturday, March 5 from 3:00 to 3:30 (right after the coffin races) and 5:00 to 5:30, and again on Sunday, March 6 from 3:00 to 3:30.

After returning home, I’ll get on a plane Tuesday to fly to the ICCFA convention. I’ve got permission to post stories with photos and video from the expo hall. You would not believe the products that are going to be featured there: glass art that incorporates cremated remains, memorial tribute blankets, fancy urns and other memorial products for pets, and more stuff that must be seen before attempting to describe. The convention lasts all week.

If anyone needs to reach me by phone while I’m at either of these events, call me on my cell phone: 505-363-7514. Freeze The Day!

A Good Goodbye
