Despite the fact that humans have a 100% mortality rate, less than 25% of adults do any end-of-life planning: wills or trusts, advance medical directives and preneed funeral planning. That means 75% of our loved ones will scramble to collect information and make expensive decisions under duress of grief.

It doesn’t have to be that way. Learn what you need to know, and do, BEFORE someone dies to help create a “Good Goodbye.”

This presentation by Gail Rubin, Certified Thanatologist, “One Foot in the Grave – Next Steps,” will take place at the monthly meeting of the New Mexico Association for Continuity of Care (NMACC). Meetings are held at Albuquerque’s Tanoan Country Club from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Gail Rubin, CT, is a pioneering death educator who uses humor and funny films to teach about end-of-life topics. An award-winning speaker, she “knocked ’em dead” at TEDxABQ in 2015. She’s the author of three books on end-of-life issues: A Good Goodbye: Funeral Planning for Those Who Don’t Plan to DieHail and Farewell: Cremation Ceremonies, Templates and Tips, and KICKING THE BUCKET LIST: 100 Downsizing and Organizing Things to Do Before You Die. She’s also an informed advocate for planning ahead, a Certified Funeral Celebrant, a licensed insurance agent in New Mexico, and the coordinator of the Before I Die New Mexico Festival.
