Tony Carrillo, the creator of the F Minus cartoon, has had some mortality issues on his mind lately. Earlier, this cartoon twisted the traditional funeral with the idea of not letting any extra space in a casket go to waste. The deceased could have composted his body with a green burial container or shroud. Instead, we have a casket packed with garbage.
Then today, we have this cartoon, with a man in his office talking to a visitor. But he’s looking at the tombstone marker hanging on the wall behind him. “As much as these things cost, I figure I might as well enjoy it while I’m around,” he says. Sure, why not?
Although, it may be considered bad feng shui by the folks who honor this philosophy of fostering good energy flow. Even if it’s a spectacular headstone, the superstition holds that it draws negative life energy. Maybe this guy is in a dead end job.
