There’s some great philosophy in this Pickles cartoon. Earl and his grandson Nelson are sitting at the kitchen table when Nelson asks, “Grandpa, how long do you think you’ll live?” Grandpa replies, “Who knows, Nelson? I could be here for twenty more years or I could check out tomorrow. Life is uncertain, especially at my age.”
“Is that why you eat your dessert first?” Nelson asks. “Bright boy,” says Earl.
In other words, don’t put off that which is pleasurable. We may only have today to enjoy the good stuff.
