We go to the heavenly abode for two Death Cartoons today from Non Sequitur.
In this one, those who go to heaven really do have to do something spectacular to earn their wings. A woman is holding on to a trapeze, getting ready to swing over to St. Peter who’s holding out a pair of wings. The next guy in line comments, “I always assumed that “earning your wings” was just a metaphor.”
And don’t forget what they say in It’s a Wonderful Life: “Every time a bell rings, and angel gets its wings.”
In this cartoon, a group of newly minted angels are standing around looking into boxes they’ve been given upon entry to the heavenly sphere. One has a box labeled Missing Socks.
“To tell you the truth, I thought our final reward would have a bit more of a wow factor,” he quips.
Amen to that, brother!
