Here are a few Death Cartoons featuring dogs and cats in heaven. Of course we’ll see our beloved pets in heaven after we’ve left this earthly plane!
This Non Sequitur cartoon features a man with wings and a halo, walking the clouds. He encounters a friendly, enthusiastic dog, which also has wings. Smiling, the man removes his halo, and tosses it like a Frisbee. The dog leaps up, flapping its wings, chasing the ring. It chomps on the halo and promptly flies away. Moral of the story – dogs will be dogs, but maybe not retrievers.
This Close to Home cartoon shows the gates of heaven, with a feline St. Peter (complete with halo and wings) checking the roster as several people stand before the desk. Off to the side, there’s a sign that reads, “No goofy comments about coming back to life as a house cat!”
It’s so true. I have a door mat that reads, “On the sixth day, God made man and gave him dominion over all the creatures of the Earth… Except, apparently, for cats.”
In this Non Sequitur cartoon, Dog Heaven is a mailman’s hell. The dogs here have both wings and halos. Maybe this is where the dog in the first cartoon flew, holding the halo in its mouth. It needed the halo to join the rest of the pack.
