A few recent additions to the Family Plot Blog Death Cartoon Collection:
Yesterday’s Non Sequitur is titled “Bad Judgement Day.” It features folks standing before the Heavenly Judge, including one teenager with his hand on a steering wheel and his cell phone in the other hand. He’s texting “On the road. Kinda bored. Wassup w/you?”
Anyone who uses their cell phone, either talking or texting while driving, get the message! Far too many deaths and serious injuries have been inflicted on innocent drivers by distracted ones.
And over in Close To Home, there’s a woman in a cemetery standing at a grave talking to two groundskeepers holding shovels. She’s frantically telling them, “For the jillionth time, I have looked EVERYWHERE. That winning lottery ticket has GOT to be in his pants!”
Kind of reminds me of the film Waking Ned Devine – the guy who had the winning lottery ticket and died of a heart attack as the numbers came up.
And a nod to today’s FoxTrot cartoon. Geeky Jason has decorated his gingerbread men in Star Trek uniforms wearing red shirts. You had to be truly in the know about the original TV series to recognize that the gingerbread men were doomed to be eaten, as the majority of crew in red shirts that beamed down to a planet with Captain Kirk et al usually didn’t make it back alive.
Beam me up, Scotty!
