The 12-episode TV series A Good Goodbye: Funeral Planning for Those Who Don’t Plan to Die took first place in the television talk show category of New Mexico Press Women’s 2014 Communications Contest. Contest Chair Sherry Robinson presented program host and producer Gail Rubin with an award certificate at today’s meeting of Albuquerque Press Women.

The program now goes on to national level competition in the contest conducted by the National Federation of Press Women.

In addition, the program has been nominated for a Rocky Mountain Regional Emmy Award®.

A Good Goodbye TV presents an educational and entertaining 12-episode series of 25-minute programs with expert interviews on “everything you need to know before you go.”

Host Gail Rubin brings a light touch to a serious subject. Like her award-winning book of the same name, the TV interviews cover a lot of information most folks don’t know about until faced with a death in the family. By planning ahead and having a conversation families can:

  • reduce stress at a time of grief
  • minimize family conflict
  • save money and
  • create a meaningful, memorable good goodbye.
