The Newly-Dead Game TM logoHow well do you know your partner’s last wishes? Could you pull together a memorial service with the information you currently know about that person?

The Newly-Dead Game® at the 2016 Frozen Dead Guy Days festival in Nederland, Colorado had great interest and participation by 12 couples. Three games, scheduled at 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. on Saturday and 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, each had four couples participate.

The Newly-Dead Game is like the classic TV show The Newlywed Game, but the questions test couples on how well they know each others’ last wishes. Also, because game creator Gail Rubin doesn’t have a “cone of silence,” the technology to play the game is decidedly low-tech. Couples write their answers to four increasingly harder questions on pads of paper. The couple with the most points for right answers wins!

The winning couples received a copy of Gail’s book or TV show DVD set A Good Goodbye: Funeral Planning for Those Who Don’t Plan to Die. The other participating couples each received a copy of Hail and Farewell: Cremation Ceremonies, Templates and Tips and a generous helping of BereaveMints. A big thank you to everyone who participated!

Unfortunately, the camera died in the middle of the 5:00 p.m. game on Saturday. But, we do have the other two games in their entirety, now available on YouTube! Check out the videos below.
