Silver City Film Talk Tonight

Oct 11, 2013 | 0 comments

Tonight’s the night for Laughing in the Face of Death: Funny Films for Funeral Planning at 7:00 p.m. in lovely Silver City, New Mexico!

The Western Institute for Lifelong Learning (WILL) is coordinating this free presentation on the campus of Western New Mexico University, in the Global Resource Center Auditorium. For more information or to reserve a seat, contact 575-538-6835 or email info@will-learning.com.

In this upbeat talk, I illustrate funeral planning issues with clips from comedy films and television programs. Just as talking about sex won’t make you pregnant, talking about funerals won’t make you dead – and your family will benefit from the conversation.

We’ll see scenes from The Mary Tyler Moore Show’s famous “Chuckles Bites the Dust” episode, Chaos and Cadavers, The Six Wives of Henry Lefay, Death at a Funeral (U.S. version), The Living Wake, Undertaking Betty, Elizabethtown, The Big Lebowski, and Big Fish.

You’ll laugh and learn and have a real good time (yes, sir!).

This presentation is underwritten by Baca’s Funeral Chapels, serving your family with locations in Silver City, Deming and Las Cruces. Learn more at www.BacasFuneralChapels.com.
