Looking for ways to minimize funeral costs? Come out for a free, enlightening talk by Gail Rubin, CT, The Doyenne of Death®, titled, “It Doesn’t Have to be Expensive to Die: Affordable Funeral Planning.” The event will take place on Saturday, January 23, 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. at the Cherry Hills Library, 6901 Barstow NE, Albuquerque, NM.

The talk is the third in a series of four presentations, “Begin the New Year by Thinking about The End,” presented by the library on end-of-life conversations. The other three presentations address beginning the conversation (a panel on Jan. 5), protecting yourself financially (Jan. 12), and making it legal (Jan. 25). Gail Rubin, CT, The Doyenne of Death®

Gail Rubin, CT, is a death educator who uses humor and funny films to teach about end-of-life topics. An award-winning speaker, she “knocked ’em dead” at TEDxABQ in 2015. The author of A Good Goodbye: Funeral Planning for Those Who Don’t Plan to Die and Hail and Farewell: Cremation Ceremonies, Templates and Tips, she also serves on the local Chevrah Kaddisha (Jewish burial society) and the cemetery committee for Congregation Albert. She is a member of the Association for Death Education and Counseling and the International Cemetery, Cremation and Funeral Association.
