Pearls Before Swine is one of my top go-to sources for Death Cartoons. One of Stephan Pastis’ death-related strips graces the cover of A Good Goodbye and is (legally) featured on this website. He’s been on a roll the past two days with Death Cartoons.
Yesterday, we had a visit with the crocodiles. Larry’s is talking with his son about renewing his wedding vows. He has written, “Me, Larry, ess take wife to have and to hold… For better or worse, or much worse, which ees how it usually ees. But being meeserable ees okay, because one day me die.” That’s pretty much Matchings, Hatchings and Dispatchings, all in one four panel strip.
Today, Pearls Before Swine takes on obituaries. You may already know that newspapers charge hundreds of dollars to publish obituaries, also known as death notices. Rat’s got a better idea for the entertaining use of their newspaper real estate.
You can save money on an obituary by keeping it short in the newspaper and expounding at length on a funeral home’s website, or other online outlets. There’s more information about how to do that in A Good Goodbye: Funeral Planning for Those Who Don’t Plan to Die. Get your copy today!
